I am currently cultivating colonies of phytoplankton and trying to isolate different species for DNA sequencing. Once the phytoplankton are identified, I will begin to study their long-term adaptation(s) to simulated ocean acidification, naturally caused by an increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide, to determine if they can outpace mankind’s impact on their environment.
I’m a SciTech student majoring in general biology and minoring in Japanese with intent to enroll in the 5 Yr Fast Track for Biotechnology, and my dream job is to work at the CDC or HudsonAlpha! I love reading, eating, swimming, watching anime, and trying new things. I am very happy to be a part of Morris Lab because I am always learning something new, and we’re like a family!
